New tool how to have mockup close to reality working sample

As we all know, usability testing has a very important impact on product design, it can enable us to learn and understand some things.

But not every Design team considering it is important and put resource on product test.

So there is good news for MITAC consumer and customer, because in MITAC PDD team had already build up UX professional team, which not just only helps to do our design work in right direction indirectly to improve our work efficiency, the most important to ensure there is no critical usability issue for our end-user.

ID designers often participate in the study process of usability testing during the development period.

And the experience I got in these processes is "The most important thing in usability testing is observation and discovery."

What Users Say Versus What They Do

What users say and do is often quite different, and empathic design can help us see through that. Exactly right!

Here I want to share with you an article that I have read and found interesting.

It is mentioned in the article that Designer found something during a user study for scalpel design.

They did user research with nurses and asked them to demonstrate how they passed the scalpel to the surgeon.

What the nurses described and demonstrated outside the operating room was much different from what they did inside the operating room.

The nurses weren’t trying to deceive. They really thought they were doing what they had described, but through the real situation, we saw the disconnect.

This is why I think observing the user is more important than what the user says, and share examples of this article.

What else can we do at the ID design development design review stage?

for sure, we do competitor research, marketing study, especially some design usability test.

In the ID design development and verification early stage, we have blue foam or 3D printed samples to repeated verification and usability testing for internal design review and improve,

but these test there are still gaps and reliability with actual situation in the Plug usage, button feedback, SD card usability, etc function usability review, because it's not working sample, and it is necessary to wait for the samples with actual connectors to be able to study more completely.

So, one important point: What else can we do at the ID design development design review stage? if we can more early to fix some issue, why we need to wait.

In order to grasp the design usability issues earlier, increase the reliability of testing, and help us improve the design more effectively, I have established and developed the commonly used connector 3D database and the real connector 3D printing application system for the ID department.
