DESIGNER FATE: OFTEN WORK ALL NIGHT LONG ?
I believe most of designers who no matter in school design learning stage or being work in company, in order fulfill our perfect design work, sometime we need to work over time or even to stay all night to get our work done. When I was a student or junior designer, I often being struggle by working overtime too long, and wondering it a doomed destiny for me a designer to often work overtime long?
I CHOOSE NOT TO BE, LET’S GO EVOLUTION
Of course I not acceptable for this fate, So I decide to find the way out if there have any idea to make me more efficiency. I start to evaluate every single stage in a design project, to find out which part spending me the most time in project and as below picture shows apparently the 3D modeling works always occupy me the most time work in project. Of course I need 3D software to build up ID design and also need it to modify 3D to cater other function needs and bring our design work in to MP, So I am not surprise for this result.
LEARNING SHORTCUT KEY IN 3D SOFTWARE
First when I am conscious to learn how much time I spend in 3D modeling work, I find out there is a bad habit that I always to drag mouse pointer to click the function bar that on monitor. It’s really wasting time and harmful to hand wrist. I start learning to use keyboard to launch function in 3D software that I often used by shortcut keys. And different software have Different rule for shortcut key.
In Creo : got no default shortcut setting for user, user need to define by themselves
In Keyshot : user could use default shortcut setting or to define by themselves
SHORTCUT KEY REALLY SHORTCUT WORK TIME
Don’t believe it? To verify how much that shortcut key to improve my work efficiency, I make demonstrate video of work time comparison between “without shortcut and “with shortcut key” by to build a basic product form in Creo software.

For this case with shortcut key to build 3Dmodel can almost save me 3 minute in just 11 feature operation. In my project on average it’s need to create around 400 features operation to build an complete ID model in CREO. So as long as clearly how big benefit the shortcut key is to make my 3D work more efficiency.
IN ORDER TO ENJOYING LIFE
To work efficiency not only to have more time to make design work perfect, it's more important it also to help designer To get off work on time, and use the rest time of work day to do what you love. And also to often keep our physical and mental in health, so that we could produce a good and quality design works
So don’t wasting your time and let’s start to make a good use of shortcut key.
